Temporary Steel & Composite Bridges
With InfraCore® Deck and HCB® Design
CMSI (CMS Infrastructure) and HCB® have designed a transformative fibre-reinforced composite temporary steel & composite bridge with InfraCore® Mat Deck. The bridge will fill a significant gap in the temporary industrial bridge space across the North American market through its innovative design. Companies operating in the energy, pipeline, utilities, forestry, heavy construction mining and disaster relief will benefit from the lightweight progressive design, ease of transport, installation, and demobilization.
Modular Hybrid Steel FRP Bridge
CMSI (CMS Infrastructure) can design, build and deliver conventional and FRP low weight and low maintenance bridges to meet your budget, operational requirements and schedule. As well as new construction, CMSI (CMS Infrastructure) carries an inventory of conventional bridges for immediate rental and purchase and has the expertise to deliver and install.
Innovation is at the core of CMSI (CMS Infrastructure) culture and we have found a partner in the Hillman Composite Beams company to collaborate on the design of a transformative fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) composite temporary industrial bridge. Through its innovative design, the bridge will fill a significant gap in the temporary industrial bridge space across the North American market.
Companies operating in the energy, pipeline, utilities, forestry, heavy construction mining and disaster relief sectors will benefit from the lightweight progressive design, ease of transport, installation and demobilisation. Simply put, this innovative temporary bridge will transform the way industry moves equipment, people and material in the field.
Specifications:
Width of section: 4.2m traffic lane + 1.9m pedestrian lane (can be extended)
Spans: up to 36m, larger custom spans can be designed upon request
Weight of steel girders + FRP decks: 325-355 kg /m^2
Structural height: 1370 mm
The Design Behind FRP Temporary
Bridges
Fiber-Reinforced decks are placed on top of these steel girders to span in the width direction, whilst keeping the bridge weight to a minimum, and are connected to the steel girders by a coupling plate
Transportation, Assembly, and
Installation
All components of the modular system are dimensioned such that they fit inside containers and therefore can be transported by ship, truck and train. To minimize the assembly time of the bridge on site, it is possible to pre-assemble certain combinations of parts off-site to container-sized subassemblies. 1 container reflects a 18.288 m bridge.
