Bridge Renovation
Bridge renovation
Is a new bridge deck needed? Then we can take care of that for you. Our FRP bridge decks are extremely strong and ultra-light. Renovation is therefore perfectly possible on the existing structure. The bridge retains its strength or becomes even stronger.
Bridge renovation with SUREbridge
Europe has more than 1 million concrete bridges and viaducts. About 10 percent of the constructions are outdated and in need of replacement or costly maintenance. This is due to insufficient functionality due to (a combination of) concrete rot, heavy load, insufficient row width and penetration of de-icing salts. And because the traffic increases and becomes heavier, stronger structures are needed. But how? Demolition and new construction is not sustainable and causes a lot of inconvenience. SUREbridge offers the solution. This will reinforce concrete bridges in a sustainable way and make them future-proof. In a socially acceptable and financially attractive way.
Renovation bridges and viaducts
SUREbridge is a new method that retains and even strengthens the existing structure. Using the InfraCore® technology, we increase both the capacity and functionality of existing concrete bridges. The result: a renewed construction that requires hardly any maintenance. The service life is considerably extended; up to 50 years.
More strength and stiffness
SUREbridge is based on the fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) bridge decks that we have been successfully producing for many years. We place a load-bearing upper deck with InfraCore® Inside on the existing structure. If necessary, we place pre-stressed carbon reinforcement at the bottom of the construction. Together with the upper deck, this provides more strength and stiffness. The new deck can also be wider than the existing situation.
Sustainable solution
FRP is the material for the future. Our bridge decks have InfraCore® Inside. The advantages of renovation with this patented solution: no demolition of the existing construction, more strength and stiffness of the bridge and an extremely long service life of more than 50 years, without risk of fatigue, corrosion and delamination. The bridge requires hardly any maintenance.
